Responding to the effectiveness of locally made chemicals on vegetables as promoted by Action for Sustainable Development –ASUD among farmers in the area, Assistant Agriculture Development Officer responsible for Mzimba North Perrina Phewa said research is open to everyone including local farmers. “As it is, the farmers have the freedom to do research on their crops as long as the chemicals they use are not harmful to their bodies.” Said Phewa. Phewa further added her office’s gratitude to the program being implemented by ASUD further calling for collaboration amongst various stakeholders.
